Jennifer Morrill, M.S.

Most recently, Jennifer Morrill served as the Media Relations Director for American Farmland Trust where she developed and implemented strategic communications plans, served as the primary press liaison for trade and consumer media, and worked with AFT’s Agriculture & Environment, Growing Local and farmland protection initiatives.

With more than 15 years of experience in agricultural issues communication and program development experience, Morrill led proactive efforts to produce press releases, media events, opinion pieces, white papers, broadcast and print coverage that reached more than seven million people with AFT’s messages in 2011. This included multiple stories in the top 100 U.S. newspapers and key social media outlets. Her media efforts also produced nationwide coverage of AFT’s farm program reform and other policy proposals in both the 2008 and 2012 farm bill legislative processes.

Morrill served previously as director of communications at the Farm Credit Council and the U.S. Grains Council, where she established new communications approaches and strategy, coordinated the communications of the Washington, DC, agricultural community at the Seattle Round WTO meetings and more. She also holds expertise in consumer, food safety, nutrition and youth issues through her tenure as a Cornell Cooperative Extension Agent and her work with the Marriott Corporation. Morrill earned her B.S. from Cornell University, and M.S. in public communications from The American University.
